I’m fifty -something female who’s been in many, many weight loss programs through the years. It’s always been the same: I lost weight the first few weeks then either hit a plateau or gave up exercising because I told myself it didn’t fit into my routine. I’d console myself with chocolate.
My friends walk twice a day through the large complex ( 3 miles). Each time I began a new regime, I joined them but dropped out again. I began to feel ‘left out’ as many recipes, news, and fun were shared.
Each month, my friends and I pool our shopping list and order online from a local well-known grocer. A clerk would call to verify the order is for BOTH sugar substitute and regular granulated sugar and was told ‘Yes, that‘s correct.’ When the delivery comes, he or she made comments that both Healthy Choice foods and ‘regular‘ foods were listed and delivered and we‘d say nothing. .
Two months ago, I decided enough is enough! Wen we placed the montlys order, I ordered Healthy Choice foods and sugar substitute. I rejoined the daily walks and began to enjoy more time with my friends. Since we’re all eating Healthy Choice it’s easier to stay with our individual regimes.
We’ve all lost weight but while it was once my ‘goal’ to lose weight I find the exercise and camaraderie much more important.
