beef merlot

the beef merlot has always been my favorite but a recent purchase it appears the sauce has been changed and not in a good way! It used to be rich and wine colored and is now a paler color and appears to have a lot of flour in it!! It was awful!! I hope this was simply a processing error and the another purchase will have the correc tsauce. If not I will never purchase agaqin. Had to throw away 3 of the dinners because of the awful sauce!!!

I agree--the sauce on Beef Merlot has changed, as well as the sauce on the Whiskey Steak, which used to be a nice, sweet, bbq flavor--now they've changed it completely to an herby dijon based sauce, which is gross. These were my two absolute favorites, and the only real reason I bought any of the others was just to add variety--otherwise, I'd live on Beef Merlot & Whiskey Steak. LEAVE THE STEAMER RECIPES ALONE, PLEASE!!!! GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL RECIPES THAT PULLED US ALL BACK TIME AFTER TIME TO PURCHASE!!!

OMG! I completely agree! I thought I was losing my mind! I LOVED the whiskey steak and suddenly the sauce was a different color and TASTELESS! I sent ConAGra an email with my complaint and was sent an auto-reply email saying someone would get back to me via email within a few days but never happened. Has anyone else ever gotten a reply from the company about why they changed the flavor of the sauces???
Horrible now...won't waste another dime on these products that I used to LOVE!

Agreed! I came here just by doing a google search for "Whiskey Steak Recipe Change." Found this forum and this thread, glad I am not imagining things.
My family has been eating Healthy Choice for years. We eat them several times throughout the week to fill in when the pretty young wife is not cooking (love ya honey). After eating the newest whiskey steak, I thought we had just gotten a dud. But I remember the "new" Healthy Choice commercials and campaign, and decided to check.
My favorites were both the whiskey steak and merlot. It is to bad they had to go and mess up the fantastic recipes they had before, I honestly think they taste awful. Guess we'll be trying some other dinners from competitors, but I'm really bummed because these were honestly the best frozen dinners I had ever had that were even remotely "healthy."
Like my Daddy always taught me: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Bad call, Healthy Choice.
